2020 Pigmentum Malbec Rouge Cahors, Georges Vigouroux

The Vigouroux family pride themselves on being specialists in France when it comes to the production of Malbec wines and hospitality. Since 1887, four generations of the family have focused on this varietal, maintaining continued techniques, passion and know-how in order to produce some of the finest expressions of French Malbec on the market. 

In addition to being French Malbec experts, the Vigouroux family own the Medieval Castle of Mercuès: a Relais & Châteaux in Cahors with a one-star Michelin Chef.

Traditional fermentation  with a cold soak prefermentation maceration and a short fermentation of two weeks to extract mainly the fruit characters. Beneath a bouquet of summer flowers, a rich red Malbec emits flavours of raspberry, blackcurrant and blackberry, held together by firm, defined tannins.

This Pigmentum Malbec is the perfect wine to accompany everyday’s meals as well as more elaborate dishes such as roast pork, leg of lamb, duck, beef tajine, cannelloni, chicken currry, and vol au vent.
